Overview: Our church is seeking a skilled and experienced accountant to join our team. The church Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the church, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential in supporting the financial health and integrity of the church, providing valuable insights and guidance to church leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Records Management: Maintain and reconcile financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports to guarantee accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Payroll & Benefits Management: Oversee payroll processes and manage employee benefits, including health insurance, and other related benefits.
• Budgeting: Collaborate with church leadership to develop and manage budgets for church operations, ministries, and special events.
• Audit Coordination: Work with external auditors and other financial professionals to ensure the church adheres to regulatory requirements and best financial practices.
• Financial Guidance: Provide financial analysis and guidance to church leadership to support informed decision-making.
• Confidentiality: Safeguard the confidentiality of financial information and sensitive data.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial regulations.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with church leadership, members of the congregation and other stakeholders.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle the financial operations of the church effectively.
