Job Description

Clinical Intake Specialist

Join our dynamic team at Synapticure, where you will play a vital role in ensuring our members receive the support they need. As a Clinical Intake Specialist, you will provide essential clinical and administrative assistance, including customer service, scheduling, and coordination with healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage new patient intake calls to assess member needs.
  • Collect brief medical histories and current/past provider details.
  • Gather and verify insurance information.
  • Schedule and manage appointments in accordance with care team protocols.
  • Handle appointment cancellations, no-shows, and reschedules while sending timely reminders.
  • Document all member interactions and correspondence accurately.
  • Assist in completing FMLA forms as necessary.

Operational Support:

  • Collaborate with the care team to complete all visit-related tasks efficiently.
  • Request and acquire medical records from health plans and external sources as per established guidelines.
  • Ensure that all necessary member forms, including consents and HIPAA forms, are collected and reviewed.
  • Conduct eligibility and insurance checks for upcoming appointments.
  • Oversee communication tasks including faxing, mailing, and coordinating member resources.
  • Utilize care facilitation and scheduling platforms to manage data, document interactions, and communicate with the team and members.
  • Generate and disseminate reports as required, supporting member care and operational effectiveness.
  • Undertake additional duties to enhance member services and support operations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations.
  • Preferred experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role.
  • Proficient in handling and reviewing medical records.
  • Experience in a rapidly evolving work environment.
  • Proven ability in managing referrals and care coordination.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, Mac, and Google products.
  • Basic knowledge of common medications prescribed.
