CNC Machinist/ Maintenance 

Job Title: CNC Operator & Maintenance Coordinator

Department: Cabinetry

Position Location: South Charlotte, NC

Pay: $21.00/hr 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CNC Operator & Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for running all of the CNC machinery and maintaining the machinery as well. To be successful the operator/coordinator must be able to effectively communicate with engineers and clients who will use the programs and have a thorough understanding of machine shop fabrication and good manufacturing practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot, maintain and adjust equipment as needed
• Run all manufacturing machinery (CNC, Edgebander, etc.)
• Run ancillary machinery
• Assist operations manager on job priorities
• Perform tasks as delegated by operations manager
• Choose cutting tools that will be required
• Coordinate job order and perform necessary adjustments
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform all aspects of CNC operating
• Help lead machine shop personnel

Skills and Educational Requirements:

• Two years relevant experience
• Possess effective CNC operating skills
• Excellent reading comprehension
• Good math skills
• Ability to accurately read blueprints
• Must be an effective listener
• Excellent PC skills including MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of standard machine shop practices and tooling
• Basic experience in working with measurement equipment such as rulers, calipers
• Must be self-motivated with strong organizational skills, hands on, detail oriented – excellent time management skills
• Ability to work effectively while managing multiple priorities concurrently
• Problem solver: ability to exercise independent judgment on immediate situations with cost, policy, and reputation ramifications
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision as well as in a team environment
