Gray Media, a multimedia company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Digital Producer to work on the WILX website, OTT, and social media platforms. About WILX: WILX, the highly rated NBC affiliate located in Lansing, Michigan, is on a growth trajectory. WILX currently produces 33 hours of news per week and is growing. A market leader in news, digital, and social media, WILX News 10 is home to Emmy award-winning reporters and the recipient of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters “Station of the Year” award. Job Summary/Description: We are looking for a Digital Producer to write and produce multi-media news and features, and keep abreast of breaking news stories and trending topics on social media. Duties/Responsibilities: Creating, managing, and editing text, video, and slideshow content for all WILX TV’s digital platforms. Aggressively pursuing news tips and reporting on breaking news on digital formats. Collaborating with the entire newsroom on developing stories and best practices for digital publishing. Research, propose, and develop new and innovative emerging technology strategies. Analytics reporting when needed. Collaborating with Creative Services team members to create effective content. Maintaining regular and timely attendance and flexibility for changing operational needs. Qualification/Requirements: Candidates should be able to work quickly to meet deadlines in a demanding news environment, multitask, and have excellent writing and communication skills. Preferred candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or another related field. Candidates with experience working in a newsroom or with digital and/or social media are preferred. Technical Requirements: Knowledge of graphic, motion, and multimedia software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and HTML5.
