Responsibilities The roles and responsibilities of the Floater Teacher will promote early education to our most needed communities. The Floater Teacher is responsible for partnering with the classroom team to provide developmentally and culturally appropriate lesson plans for the classroom in the absence of one of the regular classroom teachers. As part of the classroom team, the Floater Teacher works with the team to effectively manage the classroom environment. Promotes recognition, acceptance, and positive interactions among children, families, and staff in the classroom. Facilitates lesson plans in cooperation with the classroom team. The full-time Floater Teacher will be a position in partnership with Early Childhood Education directly impacting the West Town neighborhood. Position Summary The Floater Teacher is responsible for partnering with the classroom teaching team to actively facilitate the education, care, and general development of the children following DCFS licensing, NAEYC, and Head Start performance standards. Travel: No travel required; on-site work. Position Qualifications Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. Illinois Gateways ECE credential level 4 or Infant Toddler credential level 3. Bilingual/bicultural Spanish preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Criminal, Child Abuse and Neglect and Sex Offender background checks are mandatory.
