Your Opportunity As a GIS Intern with Stantec you will provide technical support which includes mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production; as well as provide support for assigned projects.
Your Key Responsibilities - Use geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information Systems
- Managing GIS data and databases for larger multi-disciplinary studies.
- GIS analysis and mapping for environmental and infrastructure projects
- Develop web maps/applications.
- Supporting electronic data collection in the field.
- Develop GIS-based scripts, models and tools.
- Performs allocated project tasks within quality, time and budget requirements.
Your Capabilities and Credentials - Basic understanding of general concepts of Geographical Information Systems
- Knowledge of ESRI software suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps and Survey 123
- Knowledge of Python and Autocad
- Developing skills utilizing relevant geographic software programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team
Education and Experience Completed or working towards a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in GIS or related field.
Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.
Position will work primarily in an office setting, but will have opportunities to work in the field.
