LanceSoft is seeking a Physician Assistant Emergency Medicine for a local contract job in Ashland, Kentucky.

Locum APP Opportunity – Emergency Department – Kentucky

Position: Locum Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA)
Location: Kentucky
Shift: Day and night shifts available, 12-hour shifts with 24-hour coverage

 

Candidate Requirements:

• Must hold an active Kentucky license and DEA at time of presentation
• Board Certified with at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience , comfortable managing critically ill patients in a high-volume setting
• Must provide 24 months of case logs and CME documentation
• Clean malpractice and background history required
• Must be able to work flexible day and night shifts
• Health screenings required: TB test, Flu vaccine, drug screening
• ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications mandatory

Role Description:

• APPs function with physician oversight as needed; they can discuss patient care questions directly with physicians
• APPs provide full coverage in the main Emergency Department (no fast track area) for 12-hour shifts, supporting 24-hour coverage
• Common procedures include laceration repairs and I advanced procedures (intubations, central lines, chest tubes) are performed by physicians or under direct physician supervision
• Specialty backup available includes General Surgery, CT Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, OB/GYN, Hematology/Oncology, Intensivists, Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, and Pediatrics. Neuro subspecialty support available, but no neurosurgery onsite
• ED volume: ~60,000 visits annually
• Admission rate: 24-28%
• Physician coverage: 48 hours/day; APP coverage: 36 hours/day; scribes support physician shifts
