Position Description: Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Auburn Career Center's goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: To be qualified for this position, applicants must possess: - High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Maintains a valid Ohio driver's license and can operate various maintenance equipment
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Auburn Career Center Board Policy.
- Must pass drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills. Directives are clear, complete, and constructive.
- Proficient in relevant digital tools and software systems for work orders, facility maintenance tracking, and communication, including Microsoft Office Suite or district-adopted alternatives.
- Proficient in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry trades, HVAC, fire suppression, security, and communication systems, substantiated by training/work experience.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and/or moving heavy items.
- Collects, records, and maintains data accurately.
- Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly.
- Demonstrates dependability/flexibility.
- Reacts productively to interruptions/emerging priorities.

- Uses blueprints/schematic diagrams effectively.
- Ability to interpret and comply with building codes, accessibility guidelines, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, microelectronic, and other HVAC control systems.
- Proficient in boiler operations, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Available to respond to building and/or service emergencies.
Core Responsibilities: - Performs maintenance duties. Installs equipment; repairs structures, windows, doors, equipment, and furnishings. Takes the initiative to perform routine tasks independently.
- Keeps the Supervisor of Maintenance informed about ongoing activities and emerging issues.
- Upholds board policies and follows administrative guidelines/procedures. Refers district policy/procedure questions to administrators/supervisors
- Moves and arranges furnishings, supplies and equipment as directed
- Performs repairs. Avoids disrupting building activities except during emergencies. Consults with the Supervisor of Maintenance to schedule major repairs and ensure compliance with building codes and ADA accessibility standards.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
