Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity as an Part-Time Meter Reader to join our team! 

The successful candidate will read customer gas and water meters according to scheduled routes. Records readings on a hand-held computer. Watches for, investigates, and reports any gas and/or water leaks or other irregularities in meter service or Citizens Energy Group facilities. Works directly with customers to gain access to meters, resolve reading issues, and answers questions. Maintains a high read accuracy rate and read completion rate while minimizing customer inconvenience and complaints.

Salary: Hourly Pay Rate: $17.26 up to $19.50 with incentives

Work Schedule Availability: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License
• Must have reliable, insured transportation to perform the job duties
• Must be available for training and have ability to work flexible part-time hour
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
  Must be able to work in inclement weather and other conditions including but not limited to lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing and pulling
• Must pass and participate in the random Drug & Alcohol program in accordance with Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administrative (PHMSA) Regulations 49 CFR Part 199 (PHMSA drug and alcohol testing regulation) and 49 CFR Part 40 (DOT drug and alcohol testing regulation

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

• Previous Delivery or Route experience is preferred
• Previous Outside Work experience is preferred
• Previous Customer Service experience is preferred
