Job Description

Job Summary

As the Network Engineering Intern you will be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy from the moment you arrive through the course of this experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Work with our customers, network engineering team and the MCNC NOC to develop a plan and implement a redesign and maintenance schedule of the rack layout at our remote sites.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  1. Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  2. Skilled in framing a project plan, developing, testing and documenting.
  3. Must be able to work effectively individually as well as in a team environment.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  5. Flexibility to work non-typical hours.
  6. Must have a valid driver's license and will be required to drive a company vehicle on company business. Pre-employment and annual MVR checks will be required during your employment with the company for this position in order to be approved to drive a company-owned vehicle.
  7. Background and sex offender checks will be performed for pre-employment and annually during your employment with the company.
  8. This role will be required to adhere to the MCNC Substance Abuse policy, which may include drug/alcohol screening at hire and periodically or randomly during employment.

Preferred Qualifications/Specialties

  1. Cisco command line experience a plus.


Pay: $23-$25 per hour
