Primary Responsibilities:
Surgical Assistance: - Assist oral surgeon during surgical procedures (extractions, implants, biopsies, IV sedation, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments and instruments.
Patient Care: - Greet, seat, and prepare patients for procedures.
- Take and document vital signs, medical histories, and post-op instructions.
- Provide patient education and answer questions with empathy and clarity.
Radiology: - Take digital radiographs and CBCT scans as needed.
Instrument & Operatory Maintenance: - Sterilize and organize instruments and supplies; clean and reset rooms between patients.
Team Support: - Communicate with the front office, billing, and other clinical staff for seamless patient flow.
- Support inventory management and ordering of clinical supplies.
- Compliance:
- Follow OSHA, CDC, and practice-specific infection control protocols at all times.
Education: - High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Dental Assistant Certification or Oral Surgery Assistant training (Preferred, but not required-training available).
Experience: - Prior dental, surgical, or medical assisting experience preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate!
- Comfort with patient care, aseptic technique, and EMR/EHR systems is a plus.
