It’s a mission that bonds our people across nearly 60 countries and a rich, diverse variety of nationalities and backgrounds. Working here means working with the world’s leading manufacturer of generic medicines, and the proud producer of many of the products on the World Health Organization’s Essential Medicines List. An amazing number, but we’re always looking for new ways to continue making a difference, and new people to make a difference with.

The opportunity

Be part of something groundbreaking.
Join a passionate and innovative scientific team driving the future of therapeutic antibody discovery. As a Research Assistant, you’ll play a key role in early-stage drug development—supporting target validation, mechanism-of-action studies, and pharmacological testing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate with hands-on lab experience to grow your expertise in a dynamic, collaborative R&D environment.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Perform cutting-edge cell biology techniques, including functional assay development using reporter cell lines and primary cells
  • Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines, establish cell banks, and prepare assay-ready cells
  • Execute phenotypic and functional cell analyses (flow cytometry, phosphorylation assays, calcium flux)
  • Apply molecular and protein biology methods (DNA handling, protein expression, purification)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones
  • Manage lab resources and maintain accurate electronic lab notebooks
  • Present experimental data to senior scientists and management
  • Support general lab operations and foster a positive team culture
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, PC2, gene technology, and company policies

Your experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with honours in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience
  • Skilled in mammalian cell culture and familiar with cell-based assays (flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays)
  • Understanding of pharmacology principles, dose-response analysis, and basic statistics
  • Knowledge of molecular and protein biology techniques is a plus
  • Experience in immunology, cell biology, or pharmacology is highly regarded
  • Prior industry-based R&D experience is a bonus

Personal Characteristics

  • Curious and eager to learn—always looking to expand your skill set
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic, and solutions-focused
  • Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Enjoy a more rewarding choice

  • Generous leave, health, and wellbeing benefits
  • Commitment to ongoing personal & professional growth via a blend of learning opportunities
  • Opportunity to join a leading global organisation with a network of 37,000 employees operating in 60 markets, with 25 R&D sites
