We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Roofer to join our Facilities Maintenance Team and support roofing maintenance and repair across multiple restaurant properties.

Position Summary

The Roofer is responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and installing various types of commercial roofing systems used in our restaurant properties. This role ensures all roofing work meets safety standards, prevents leaks, minimizes building damage, and maintains a safe environment for guests and employees. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

Roof Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform scheduled inspections and emergency repairs on commercial roofs (TPO, EPDM, asphalt, metal, and tile).
  • Diagnose and repair roof leaks, membrane damage, seams, flashing, drains, and gutters.
  • Maintain waterproofing, sealants, and insulation.

Installation & Upgrades

  • Assist with installation of new roofing systems and repairs to existing structures.
  • Install and replace roofing materials safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compatibility of roofing systems with HVAC and ventilation units located on rooftops.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA safety standards, including fall protection and ladder safety.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work site at restaurant locations.
  • Document work and complete maintenance logs and service reports.
  • Report safety issues, structural problems, or code violations.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Facility Managers and contractors on repair schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with restaurant General Managers to minimize operational disruption.
  • Provide recommendations for long-term roofing maintenance and cost-saving improvements.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5 years of professional roofing experience (commercial experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of low-slope and flat roof systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, BUR, modified bitumen).
  • Ability to perform roof inspections and leak detection.
  • Familiar with roof safety equipment and fall protection systems.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs and work at heights and in outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (travel required between sites).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience working with national restaurant or retail chains.
  • Familiarity with roof-mounted HVAC coordination.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Experience using maintenance software or work order systems.
