Supervisory Immigration Services Officer (Section Chief)

This position is in the Field Operations Directorate, Office of Field Operations, District 11, Boston Ma Field Office. As a Supervisory Immigration Services Officer (Section Chief), you will direct the adjudication of complex applications and petitions from individuals, organizations, and businesses in a major metropolitan area, a state, or multistate area. The work affects the fundamental mission of the agency, the work of other federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the public.

This position is open to current federal employees of the hiring agency that posted the job announcement. Federal employees whose job, agency, or department was eliminated and are eligible for priority over other applicants are also eligible.

The duties of this position include providing technical and administrative direction through supervisors, safeguarding national security and public safety, providing administrative and logistical support for enforcement activities, applying expert level knowledge of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and developing new ways to resolve problems in meeting established goals.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 07/25/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 07/25/2025.
