Our client, a leading player in the surf lifestyle industry, is seeking a Surf Designer to join their team. As a Surf Designer, you will be part of the creative team supporting the development of innovative men's surf apparel. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of creativity, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Surf Designer

Location: NY, NY 10036

Pay Range: $70K-$90K

What's the Job?

• Lead Design Innovation: Drive trend research, inspiration, and color selection to create fresh and compelling designs for our men's surf collection.
• Full Design Lifecycle Management: Own the design process from concept development, illustrator sketches, and CAD designs through to fit comments and final product execution.
• Collaborate Strategically: Partner with the Director and SVP of Design to shape our brand identity and provide clear direction to our fabric and print development teams.
• Meet Business Objectives: Work closely with the merchandising team to align creative goals with business objectives, ensuring products meet price points and fulfill SKU requirements.
• Present and Influence: Confidently present trends and new lines to internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating your vision.

What's Needed?

• Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a college or university with a major in Design.
• Experience: 5+ years of design experience, preferably within the men's surf industry.
• Creativity & Passion: A high level of creativity and a genuine passion for design, especially within the surf lifestyle.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
