** Candidates submitted must meet all necessary qualifcations listed below, including education ** \nABOUT THE FACILTY: Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited health center, provides services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The hospital was constructed in 1975 with a bed capacity of 73. Services provided to the community include comprehensive inpatient/outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery and urological procedures. Approximately 49% of the surgeries performed are outpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures. Learn more about our organization. The Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation is located in Northwestern Arizona on the land known as the Colorado Plateau. This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400 in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa. The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community. The staff of medical providers includes surgeons, general medical officers, internal medicine, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists. Dental staff includes general dentists, endodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric dentists, dental assistants and hygienists. The nursing staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, community health nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, CRNA, and community health medics.\nJOB SUMMARY: The Medical Laboratory Technician - Medical Laboratory Scientist performs specimen processing, testing, and reporting of test results in compliance with regulatory requirements, policy and procedures, and the TCRHCCs goal of providing quality patient care. The position is in the laboratory that provides sub-specialties of service in a hospital setting, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy. The laboratory provides 24- hour coverage and rotates day, evening, or night shifts, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nEducation:\nMedical Laboratory Technician\n High school graduate or GED, AND\n- Successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least a duration of 50 weeks and held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician), OR\n Sixty (60) hours of courses in an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency AND of those 60 hours have completed either:\na. Twenty-four (24) semester hours of Medical Laboratory or Clinical laboratory science courses OR\nb. Twenty-four (24) semester hours of science courses with the minimal inclusion of:\n- 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, 12 semester hours of chemical, biological, or medical technologic/laboratory science in any combination\nMedical Laboratory Scientist\n Graduated with a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency,\nAND have completed either:\no Forty-eight (48) semester hours of medical laboratory technology or clinical laboratory science courses OR\no Forty-eight (48) semester hours of coursework across various subjects that include:\n- Twelve (12) semester hours of chemistry, which must include general chemistry and biochemistry or organic chemistry.\n- Twelve (12) semester hours of biology, which must include general biology and molecular biology, cell biology or genetics; and\n- Twenty-four (24) semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory science or technology in any combination.\nLicense/Certification:\nMedical Laboratory Technician\n Medical Laboratory Technician certification from a nationally recognized certification agency must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire. Certification must remain unexpired, in good standing, for the duration of employment.\nMedical Laboratory Scientist\n Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technologist or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire. Certification must remain unexpired, in good standing, for the duration of employment.\nExperience:\nMedical Laboratory Technician\n Six (6) months documented bench experience in each specialty including blood bank, microbiology, chemistry and hematology.\nMedical Laboratory Scientist\n A minimum of one (1) year of approved clinical laboratory experience, must include clinical rotation through blood bank, microbiology, chemistry and hematology.\nCatalytic Solutions Job ID #4-292580.
